Sussex Beacon boosted by Freemasons’ charity donation

The Sussex Beacon has been awarded £1,920 after its trust fundraiser completed a successful bid for funding from The Freemasons Grand Charity.

The Sussex Masonic Lodge followed the award with its own donation of £2,000, bringing the total amount donated to the dedicated HIV centre by Freemasons to £3,920.

Kat Williams, CEO of The Sussex Beacon, said: “As we greet our 20th Anniversary year we face an even greater fundraising challenge. We are so grateful to the Freemasons for their invaluable donation.”

With Brighton and Hove having the highest number of people living with HIV per capita outside of London, The Sussex Beacon works closely with the NHS to offer care and support to men and women suffering from the disease.

Michael Harris, assistant provincial grand master of the Sussex Masonic Lodge, said: “Supporting those affected by terminal or life-limiting illness remains very important to the Freemasons.

“The Sussex Masonic Lodge is delighted to be supporting The Sussex Beacon and is aware that continuous financial support is necessary to ensure that they are able to continue to provide their dedicated services.”
