The Kabeedies

Anglian pop group The Kabeedies returned to Brighton promoting second album ‘Soap’ (their first for stalwart indie Fierce Panda). It’s been a little over a year since early B-side ‘Come On’ crept onto a gaming advert, an opportunity in the limelight the band sidestepped by leaving the song out of their current set. Perhaps this is partly why they’re still touring below the radar, attracting curious but casual audiences like tonight’s young Hope crowd. The Kabeedies enthusiastically mixed jangling Altered Images guitar, Vampire Weekend melodies and boy-girl Futureheads harmonies, demanding an energetic response and deserving a wider hearing.
