Brighton children’s charity encourages monkey business

A children’s charity has challenged firms and other organisations in Brighton and Hove to monkey around in March.

Rockinghorse is asking them to raise a monkey – or £500 – next month through enterprising projects.

Brighton and Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom will judge the most innovative “monkey business” ideas and speak at an awards ceremony in April.

Ria Wilson, corporate fundraising manager, said that Rockinghorse would provide a fundraising pack for those willing to test their team-building Apprentice-style talents.

She said that she hoped bigger companies would aim to raise £1,000 over the month and smaller firms would manage £500.

The target for teams from schools would be £200.

Rockinghorse raises money to help sick and disabled children and has a long association with the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton.
