Review: Marina and the Diamonds
It’s not every day that one of Wales’ quirkier exports takes to a stage somewhere between Jesus and a porta-bar, but that’s what Marina did on Saturday night.
Walking down a church aisle in a wedding dress singing an acoustic version of her chart hit ‘Radioactive’ was admittedly a surreal start to a rather unusual gig.
For the best part it worked, albeit thanks to the hundreds of super-loyal fans who sang every word with abundant enthusiasm.
Although “a bit like a church disco” her warmth together with the informal venue made for an enjoyable, if unremarkable, performance.
