Brighton and Hove Greens elect new deputy leaders
The Brighton and Hove Green Party has announced its new deputy leaders who will serve alongside new leader Jason Kitcat.
They are Amy Kennedy, Phelim Mac Cafferty and Lizzie Deane.
Councillor Kennedy is currently one of two deputy leaders. From Friday 4 May she will job share the post with Councillor Mac Cafferty.
Councillor Deane takes over the second deputy leader post from Councillor Ian Davey.
They will take up their new posts on the same day that Councillor Kitcat takes over as party leader – the Greens use the term convenor – from Bill Randall.

At the annual meeting of Brighton and Hove City Council on Thursday 17 May Councillor Kitcat is also expected to replace Councillor Randall as leader of the council.
Councillor Randall is due to take over as mayor from Councillor Anne Meadows, a Labour member of the council.
At the same meeting Councillors Kennedy, Mac Cafferty and Deane are expected to be formally appointed deputy leaders of the council.
Councillor Kennedy is the council’s cabinet member for planning, employment, economy and regeneration as well as being deputy leader.
Councillor Mac Cafferty is chairman of the planning committee. And Councillor Deane is chairman of the licensing committee.
The Brighton and Hove Green Party said that all the candidates were elected by secret ballot using the single transferable vote electoral system.
It said that an electoral college gave equal weight to the votes of Brighton and Hove Green Party and the Green group of councillors in Brighton and Hove.
Councillor Kitcat, who was elected unopposed, said: “I would like to thank the party for their support.
“I look forward to working with our new deputies to deliver a greener, fairer city.
“I will work tirelessly for the people of Brighton and Hove with all those who share the hope of a better future.”
