Mother’s Day at Uniquely Organic EcoSpa

In celebration of motherhood
Today the sun shines, birds are twittering outside and, yes, Mother Nature has brought us the promise of spring and rebirth. It is no secret that I am soon to become a mother myself and am into all things maternal. So this month at Uniquely Organic we are celebrating motherhood in all its aspects.

Something special for Mother’s Day
Isn’t it strange how mothers are always there with kind words of encouragement, well-meaning advice and that uncanny radar forever homing in on emotions we thought were hidden, long after their offspring are fully grown? Whoever dreamt up the concept of Mother’s Day (Sunday 18 March) deserves a medal as, without it, I wonder if we’d ever get round to thanking our mums for all they do. So throughout March, we’re doing a special offer at the EcoSpa for our delectable Hot Stone Massages (1 hour 30 mins, £70).

This treatment combines the power of human touch with the penetrating warmth of hot stones and is a blissful treat mums of ages will appreciate.

And, fathers of young children, I’m told ‘me-time’ is the ultimate gift for
new mums caught up in the whirlwind of new life and responsibilities. So how about treating your partner to a Mother’s Day massage? Alternatively our staff can advise you about vouchers, other treatments and our new ‘classes plus’ relaxation programmes: meditation plus Reiki or yoga plus massage.

Introducing baby massage
For those who, like me, are expecting a new baby, I am excited to let you know that our lovely Certified Infant Massage Instructor, Sophie Annett, will be starting baby massage classes in March. These five-week courses are an effective way of strengthening mother-child bonds and improving sleep, each parent learning techniques of massaging their own baby. Further details are on our website.

Treatments for mums-to-be and would-be mums
We are very tuned in to the needs of expectant mums and offer pregnancy massage (1 hour, £48) to help release tension and swelling. Our amazing ‘Beauty and the Bump’ package will also help you feel more relaxed and glowing. Fertility acupuncture with Ele Denman is also available to enrich and replenish your body in preparation for pregnancy. All in all, Mum’s the word.
