Brighton sex attack suspect arrested
A man has been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted and robbed in Brighton in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday 10 March).
Sussex Police said that the 42-year-old suspect was arrested at an address in Kemp Town at 4am today (Sunday 11 March).
The officer who is leading the investigation urged four men who stepped in during the attack in Stone Street, Brighton, to contact his team.
Detective Inspector Miles Ockwell said that the good samaritans could have crucial evidence.
He said: “This investigation is progressing well but I am still keen to trace up to four males who came to the rescue of the victim.
“These males possibly saved the victim from suffering a more serious attack and they may have vital evidence in relation to one or more of her attackers.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the Stone Street and Preston Street area at 4am yesterday morning to contact us on 101.”
