Charity Chuckle – Angela Barnes

Angela Barnes rocked Charity Chuckle with her strong, yet subtle on-the-ball wit focussing on sending herself up. Her journey through charity shops, drug use and Brighton in general was eventful and extremely astute in terms of observation. Subtle comedy has power and she had an entertaining, yet sarcastic way of presenting her material.

She was supported by a varying degree of comic talent, but the highlights were Tasha Dhanraj and Damian Jennings. Host Jim Holland also linked every act well, but sadly he focussed too much on making sure the audience participated on this occasion which lost the comedy element.
