The London Philharmonic Orchestra
The London Philharmonic returns to Brighton Dome this Saturday 17 March: SAVE 10% ON ALL TICKET PRICES!
Opening the violin works on Saturday 17 March, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto has become the sparkling gem of the violin repertoire and one of the most popular and frequently-performed violin concertos ever written. The LPO is delighted to be joined by award-winning violinist Fanny Clamagirand to perform the dazzling Violin Concerto this evening. Also on the programme, the English composer Vaughan Williams was inspired to write The Lark Ascending after reading George Meredith’s poem of the same name. The music portrays a single lark soaring skywards, spiraling, floating and propelling into the expanse of the skies, as the solo violin lyrically ascends and rises above the weight of the orchestra with exquisitely crafted melodies.
