The movie is an uplifting, poignant drama about three very different women in Jackson, Mississippi during the 1960s. A friendship between the women turns into sisterhood, when a young writer (Emma Stone) challenges the system for what she believes is right – a secret writing project which will break society rules and put them all at risk.
