Matt Whistler is on the hunt for actresses
I can’t believe it! A small ad was put out on Gumtree for a Barbarella style actress to appear in an epic B-movie and already 200 people have come forward.
I can’t reveal too much at this early stage but the film is already causing a huge stir among the production team. It incorporates all the things I love: sci- fi, comedy, crazy dancing and phenomenal cinematography.
Somewhere during getting out of bed and trapping my phone charger wire between my toes and tumbling at high speed towards the window, I paused in a quantum second to reminisce the early days when I made my first film with my dad. The film was called Gravity, this involved holding tight onto lampposts, fences and gates for fear of a sudden loss of gravity. I used to have this as a genuine fear when I was a kid, thinking sometimes that at any moment I could float off into space.
10 years before that I would create photographic illusions with my old German Voigtländer flip out spy camera and rest an empty milk bottle on a piece of plasterboard leaning on a kitchen chair. The camera was lined up with the plasterboard and the half full or half empty milk bottle would give the impression that the milk was at a sloping angle on the hand-developed photo. My aunt would spend ages trying to guess how the milk looked like it was leaning up the bottle.
If you think you fit the bill for a Barbarella-style part drop me a line on Facebook. Casting dates te be announced shortly.
To be continued.
