Albion players bailed over Brighton sex attack until end of season
Four Brighton and Hove Albion footballers have had their police bail extended until after the season ends while detectives investigate sex attack claims.
The four players and a former Albion player answered bail today (Wednesday 21 March) and were rebailed until Wednesday 16 May.
They are Anton Rodgers, the 18-year-old son of Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers, Ben Sampayo, 19, Lewis Dunk, 20, and George Barker, 20.
The former Albion player is Steve Cook, 20, who now plays for Bournemouth.
They were arrested on Thursday 19 January on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman at the Jury’s Inn hotel behind Brighton Station in July last year.
Another Albion player, 24-year-old Tommy Elphick, was also arrested but was quickly eliminated from the inquiry by Sussex Police.
