Jakwob
Dubstep producer Jakwob’s debut tour brought him in front of a slightly ragged crowd tonight, who initially barely acknowledged the polite trio ambling on stage. With Jakwob focussing on beats and basslines from the back, stage front was cornered by the understated contributions of guitarist Etherwood and singer Rocky Nti. It took a handful of slow and soulful tracks for the group’s confidence to build, but once Nti found a rapport with the room and the gnarlier basslines appeared, their set began to fly. Ending too soon with slamming single ‘Electrify’, this fine show revealed new depths to Jakwob’s sound.
