The Selecter
The irrepressible Pauline Black has kept ska heroes The Selecter on track for 20 years since its revival, and with vocal foil Gaps Hendrickson back on board the group is producing some vital music. Hitting the stage with a revitalised ‘The Selecter’ – absent founder Neol Davies’ instrumental that helped lauch the whole 2 Tone movement – the band rarely let the energy slip. Still politicised, songs from new album ‘Made In Britain’ held their own among the hits, with Black and Hendrickson rallying Brighton’s rude boys and girls into a dance crazy sweat. A vibrant end to this glorious weekend.
