Pure water: the healthy option from the Pure H2O Company
Water from The Pure H2O Company is the healthiest option for you & the environment
Water is absolutely vital for health and wellbeing given that our bodies consist of around 85 per cent water. We need at least two litres of water a day to remain hydrated and to replace the water lost through natural excretion. We tend to take water for granted and most of us have lost our proper thirst reflex by the end of our childhood. We compound the problem by drinking tea, coffee, soft drinks, beer and alcohol, which act as diuretics, stimulating the kidneys to excrete more.
Making the right choice of water is essential. Bottled and tap waters contain many impurities like heavy metals and inorganic minerals that are likely to have an adverse effect on your health.
How pure is the water you are drinking?
Pure water contains less than 10 parts per million (mg/litre) of total dissolved solids (TDS). TDS is another way of saying impurities. How pure is our tap water? Until 1999, the maximum permitted levels of TDS in tap water were 500. Today, the limit has been relaxed to 1500ppm. Permitted impurities include metals, chemicals, oestrogens, herbicides, pesticides, nitrates, fluoride and chlorine.
Why is this situation allowed? It’s a question of economics. Given that 99.5 per cent of water is used for non-drinking purposes, water is brought to a standard which will protect public health to the best extent possible while taking account of the cost.
‘Legally safe’ does not mean that tap water is pure. It simply limits the level of contaminants. Over time the cocktail of chemicals and toxins that exist in small quantities within tap water will ultimately affect our health.
The pressure on the planet
Over one billion bottles of water are sold every year in the UK, bottles that end up being dumped in land fill. It’s just not a question of glass or plastic waste, the air we breathe and the water we drink has been contaminated by industrial and agricultural output either in the form of chemicals, pharmaceuticals (drug residues such as oestrogen), toxins and even biological agents. When you next put on a wash think about the detergent you use and where it goes when it drains.
We are all becoming aware of the enormity of the problems facing us but what can you doing about it?
Stop buying bottled water and start drinking Pure H2O straight from an RODI purifier in your kitchen. If a family of four drinks two litres of bottled water each day then a RODI system will save 2,920 bottles each year from land fill and save thousands of pounds over 12 months.
For the ultimate health choose Pure H2O and the RODI process – the most effective system available.
