I, Bertolt Brecht

The beginning of the show resembled a Heineken commercial as the cast of four sang ‘Mack The Knife’ in German accompanied by English subtitles. I’m not sure why. Indeed there were a number of question mark moments during the show. The cast was light in talent and the sketches seemed random and unrelated to the story. It was a documentary about Bertolt Brecht’s life, it should have been far more interesting from the man who said; “The audience hangs up its brains with their coats when entering the theatre.” Instead I was left feeling indifferent and underwhelmed.
