Orchard Gate welcomes new resident Councillor Mendoza
Award-winning property developer Crest Nicholson has welcomed its first residents to the Orchard Gate development in Shoreham-by-Sea. Councillor Michael Mendoza and his wife Jennifer have moved into ‘The Crawley’ – a luxury four bedroom town house featuring accommodation across three floors.
The Mendoza’s are very familiar with the Shoreham area having previously lived near Shoreham beach. Cllr Mendoza takes up his post as the Mayor of Shoreham next year and wanted to take this opportunity to move into Orchard Gate to be closer to his ward to become more accessible to his voters.

“The area is close to all the local services and amenities we need,” he continues. “I work from home a lot so it is good to have these on our doorstep.” The Mendoza’s property comprises an open-plan kitchen/dining area, large living room and inviting hall way with a bathroom. The second floor features the master bedroom which opens out onto a terrace and has an en-suite bathroom and fitted wardrobe. A further double bedroom is also situated on the second floor.
Cllr Mendoza had known about the development for many years having been on the Council’s Planning Committee when it was in the process of being approved. The couple had never previously bought a new-build property and decided it was time to try something new. “Moving to a new-build property really appealed to us and we have been really happy with the quality and standard the house has been built to,” Cllr Mendoza commented.
