News: Electric’s Woolley shaves heads for cancer charity
Mark Woolley and the Electric Art Team raised over £3,500 for Teenage Cancer Trust by shaving the heads of brave volunteers in HMV on London’s Oxford Circus last week.
Woolley, Creative Director of Electric Hairdressing, which has a branch on Brighton’s Ship Street, ran The 50/50 Challenge to mark the Blu-ray/DVD release of 50/50.
The film tells the story of a young man who is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and is given a 50/50 chance of survival.
Members of the public who raised at least £50 were given buzz cuts by Woolley and his team to match that of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character in the film.
Hundreds of people watched as dozens of pre-registered volunteers and curious Oxford Street shoppers took on the challenge and shed their hair for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
