Rockinghorse Children’s Charity launches Monkey Business challenge
Rockinghorse Children’s Charity is encouraging schools and businesses to monkey around to raise funds for sick children in Sussex.
A new initiative called Monkey Business challenges supporters to use creative, team-based activities to reach their fundraising target within a month.
The most innovative monkey-related idea will win a special prize at an awards ceremony next April, where all participants can celebrate their achievements.
Fundraising Manager Ria Wilson said: “We’re looking forward to seeing what fundraising ideas people come up with… the challenge is really all about working together well as a team and having fun with it.”
Monkey Business involves three monkey-themed categories which give different targets to different types of groups.
The Tamarin category is for schools, clubs and groups, who aim to raise £200.
Businesses with less than 20 staff can sign up as Orangutans to raise £500, while Gorillas – businesses with more than 20 staff – have a target of £1,000.
City College Brighton & Hove, Brighton & Hove Jobs, and Nando’s have already signed up as Tamarins, Orangutans and Gorillas, respectively.
Phil Frier, Principal and Chief Executive of City College Brighton & Hove, said: “We’re delighted to be involved in Monkey Business and think it’s a great way for our students to learn entrepreneurial skills, which will inspire them in all areas of life.”
All proceeds will support Rockinghorse’s work to improve children’s healthcare, including at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.
