The Futureheads

The Sunderland lads went back to basics as they began their acapella/acoustic tour in the seated cabaret room. This was the ideal setting for revamped originals and mischievous r and b covers delivered in four-part harmonies. ‘Decent Days And Nights’ became a skiffle shouter with Jaff on cello while ‘Struck Dumb’ was a street corner doo-wop symphony. Traditional songs ‘Sumer Is Icumen In’ and ‘The Old Dun Cow’ were executed perfectly with the latter reminiscent of Tom Lehrer. Excellent country-folkster supports The Cornshed Sisters joined to create a celestial choir and the obligatory ‘Hounds Of Love’ completed a great show.
