A clued-up older crowd turned out for the 21-year-old femme fatale from Salford. A sultry ‘Trust In Me’, from Jungle Book, was sung offstage before Ren walked on, still using a crutch from an horrific injury sustained last year. Her tight band excelled on the epic ‘Through The Night’ and provided a rocking ska backing on ‘For You’. ‘Summer Romance’ recalled Scott Walker’s dramatics, while ‘Forever In Blue’ was a torch song ideal for a David Lynch movie. Her take on ‘Crying’ really showed off her incredible range and the cruelly, short set left everyone longing for more.
