Comedy: FunnyHaHa: Isy Suttie
Critically acclaimed comedian and Peep Show star Isy Suttie brings her stand-out show to Brighton
After national television fame and a Radio 4 adaptation of her one-woman stand up show Pearl and Dave, Isy Suttie will hold an intimate performance at the Caroline of Brunswick pub in Brighton.
Best known for playing Dobby in Channel 4’s Peep Show, Suttie last year showcased her talent as a writer at Edinburgh, receiving praise for her writing and performance, as well as appearing as Kiki in BBC2 sitcom Whites and Nurse Pauline in Skins.
Nominated for two British Comedy Awards, and with a host of five star reviews, Suttie draws on her own experiences to tell the story of Pearl and Dave as they search for love in cyber space. Compared to Victoria Wood for her upbeat tunes, Isy Suttie’s Pearl and Dave uses storytelling, stand up and music to tell her hit tale of 21st century love.
This up-close and personal evening follows sell out shows at Edinburgh, bringing the one-woman musical comedy to a smaller audience. Playing all the characters, Suttie covers themes from hope to heartbreak while looking for true love, all covered in her own quirky musical style.
The Pearl and Dave show is part of a tour of smaller venues around the UK, sure to pique the interest of fans looking to rub shoulders with Suttie before she inevitably embarks on a tour of larger venues in the future.
With support from Elis James, compere Julie Jepson, plus Adam Race and Stephen Bailey, Suttie will host a packed evening in an intimate venue.
