Brighton and Hove mayor hosts show for cancer charity

The Mayor of Brighton and Hove is hosting a variety show to raise money for one of her charities, Macmillan Cancer Support.

Ten acts, involving more than a hundred performers, will give their time for free at the event at Hove Town Hall a week tomorrow (Saturday 21 April).

Ambrose Harcourt will compere the show, which starts at 7.30pm.

Acts include the Spotlight Players, Brighton Glee Club, comedian Bob Eaton, Brighton Theatre Group, Rox School of Dancing & Drama, Glendale Theatre Arts, Actually Gay Men’s Chorus, Actually Gay Women’s Chorus, the Heber Opera and Qukelele.

Roy Burman, chairman of the Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising Committee, said: “It is wonderful to be associated with this new tradition – the fourth year of the Mayor’s Variety Show – showcasing local talent while benefiting our local community.”
