Brighton Marathon 2012
From the sublime to the ridiculous the third Brighton Marathon was held on Sunday 15 April and was won by Peter Some in a record time of 2:12:03. The first woman across the line was Sviatlana Kouhan in 2:29:37. Many runners raised thousands of pounds for their various charities; some wore bizarre costumes from a lion, rhino, clown and Danny Miller from Brighton ‘moonwalked’ it and finished in just over 16 hours, and Dan Lawson from Albion in the Community who finished in 4:31:45 (his eighth marathon) having just run seven marathons back to back!
The next Brighton Marathon will be held on Sunday 14 April 2013 and you can sign up at www.brightonmarathon.co.uk

American Express show their support
It wasn’t just the runners who made the third Brighton Marathon a success. Volunteers helped out on the day, including a team from American Express (pictured) making the marathon run smoothly by handing out water and medals to the runners.

Artists Open Houses
The 2012 Artists Open House launch, together with a private view of local artist Louise Bristow’s work, was held at The Old Market in Hove on Friday 13 April. AOH will run as part of the Brighton Festival from 5–27 May 2012.
Many Open House venues belong to one of the 14 Open House Trails, which cover different areas of the city and beyond. Some venues are independent. Most trails are geographically grouped and houses are usually within walking distance of each other.
The Latest be awarding Best Open House Award where visitors to the Open Houses are invited to vote for their favourite at http://thelatest.co.uk/artists-open-houses/
