Brighton and Hove obeys hosepipe ban as experts warn of floods
There were no reports of the hosepipe ban being breached in Brighton and Hove today (Sunday 29 April).
Drought conditions seemed difficult to believe as the Environment Agency issued flood warnings for inland branches of the River Adur and rain teemed down across the area.
While there have been a few glimmers of sunshine, the rainfall has been prolonged and heavy and overnight there were strong winds too.
More rain is expected, with a fifth of an inch forecast by the end of the night before a dry day tomorrow (Monday 30 April) and almost half an inch on Tuesday (1 May).
A mostly dry week will end with another heavy downpour forecast for late Friday (4 May) and early Saturday (5 May).
