This week: actor Brian Capron
“Performing alone with the audience is one of the biggest challenges for an actor, but an exciting one. Although Gogol is a one-man show, the play conjures up lots of characters and moods, and changes from being very moving to being very funny. For people familiar with Russian literature, there will be resonances of Gogol’s stories and thoughts, but it is also a stand-alone piece full of pathos and humour.”
From being Hoppy in Grange Hill to the notorious Richard Hillman in Coronation Street, Hove-based actor Brian Capron is one of our most prolific actors. This summer he will be co-starring with Paul O’Grady in the arena tour of the Coronation Street musical Street Of Dreams. He is currently rehearsing his part in Gogol for the Brighton Fringe. A one-man tour-de-force, full of comedy and tragedy, and expected to be one of this year’s festival highlights. It will be performed at the Latest Music Bar, Manchester Street from 13–16 May.
