Festival! 4
In Festival! 4 presenter Lynn Ruth Miller reaches for the stars and there’s noone bigger than God! Brighton Goes Gospel, the choir of a hundred Arethas deliver soul power like noone else. Heavenly music also from concert pianist Rachel Fryer and Bach’s Goldberg Variations. The late Gil Scott Heron and Secret Policeman’s Ball comic Hannibal Buress feature in Vick’s Pick of the Fringe. Paul Levy’s choice is Evelyn Waugh’s A Dirty Martini in the marquee known as Hendricks Library of Curiosities in Jubilee Square. Amy Curtis and James DuBois of Trailblaze discuss their portrayal of Waugh’s roaring twenties decadent masterpiece. Lastly Andrew Kay meets up with actress and Jive Monkey cabaret owner Laura Nixon who says heaven is boring. Well you can’t smoke, drink and have sex so she’s brought the stars back to earth and to Jive Monkey in her show Alive and Swinging featuring Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston and presumably any other stars who die this week! It’s fun, it’s Festival! 4 from thelatest.TV
