The Golden Lion Group has enhanced one of Hove’s oldest pubs with a major internal and external makeover. Hove Place Bistro Pub & Gardens in First Avenue, Hove, benefits from a whole new look, while at the same time retaining its historic charm and beautiful gardens and improving its modern comforts.
Along with a redecorated exterior, fresh colour scheme and new branding, the pub is more spacious, a lot lighter and brighter, and has been given a new lease of life. Feature murals with images of Hove adorn the walls and bar, and are accompanied by new furnishings in a range of contemporary colours and fabrics.
Hove Place re-opened to the public in March and the team have already seen an abundance of new faces along with regular customers.
“The improvements have completely transformed the pub, bringing it into the modern day,” says Leo Day, director at the Golden Lion Group. “The feedback from everyone so far has been great.”
The quality food offering, courtesy of new and award-winning head chef Mark Richardson, has been gaining rave reviews. Dishes on the menu include an assortment of pub classics complemented by some wonderful bistro-style dishes, all made from scratch with thoughtfully sourced quality produce.
With an expansive and mature Italian garden to the rear and a delightful terrace to the front of the pub, Hove Place has arguably the finest outdoor space you’ll find anywhere in Brighton and Hove.
The building itself is a former nunnery and to this day retains many quirky and original architectural features. The picturesque gardens are ideal for al fresco dining, whiling away an afternoon with friends or simply reading a good book!
