White Rabbit, Red Rabbit

This allegorical one-actor performance sees the Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour cleverly manipulating both the actor and the audience through a completely unrehearsed script. Soleimanpour demands the audience examines its complicity and complacency, whilst using the actor as his mouthpiece and puppet. As the writer states, “This isn’t a play, but more of an experiment” and the playwright’s warm presence permeates the room. By turns, funny and thought-provoking, there’s a fair amount of audience participation, so avoid the first two rows if you’re the shy, retiring sort! As every night sees a different actor performing, (ours was the talented Alister O’Loughlin) it’s a show that demands repeated viewings.
