Teenager seriously injured in fall from balcony of Brighton flat

A 19-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after falling from the roof of a seafront house in the centre of Brighton.

The man suffered the life-threatening injuries when he fell five storeys into the back garden of Marine House in Marine Parade by the junction of Broad Street.

The incident happened at about 2.20pm yesterday (Sunday 13 May).

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service tended the teenager and he was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Officers from Sussex Police were called to help the ambulance crew.

Detectives from Brighton and Hove CID also went to the building but are not treating the fall as suspicious.
