Light bites, a new wine school

A local wine buff is warming up for the launch of a new venture for wine lovers. Jonny Gibson is opening Sussex Wine School in May 2012, offering introductory evening tastings and eight-week courses for residents in Sussex and Kent. The school is an independent, wine education company that does not sell wine and is part of the fast growing Local Wine School network.

Jonny said: “I’m passionate about wine and I especially enjoy tastings, and sharing what I know about wine with others. I found the
localwineschool.com website when searching for courses and spotted an opportunity to introduce a fun and relaxed way for people to learn about wine”.

“This is the first wine school which is dedicated to this area, and it will be a well priced alternative to the pub as a great way to socialise with friends. The courses are designed to tap into the thirst for wine knowledge amongst wine lovers here, and they will appeal to everyone, from those with no previous experience of tastings to the serious enthusiast.”

Sussex Wine School is the tenth to be launched within the successful Local Wine School network. Tastings will be held at two venues – The Brew House Hotel in Tunbridge Wells and the French restaurant Plateau in central Brighton. The first introductory course takes place Tuesday 15 May in Brighton with more to follow. All courses and tastings are available to buy as gift vouchers
and can be ordered online.
