We Hope That You’re Happy (Why Would We Lie?)

East by South-East presents a duo performance that takes humanity with consumerism and rubs it relentlessly in your face. Left to rummage through a cooler of beer, ice lollies and popcorn, Jess and Chris indulge in treats and dance the night away. Imparting childhood stories, they claim how world famine and terrorism has conflicted their quest for happiness. Although witty and sometimes thought-provoking, the talented cast were not enough to keep the audience interested. A lacklustre story that fails to procure emotivity or an adequate resolution.
