Eidos Trio

In association with Kirckman Concert Society and the Lankelly Chase Foundation, the Eidos Trio treated this luchtime concert audience to a masterclass in ensemble playing of the highest quality. Choosing an ambitious program well suited to the steady build up of momentum, suites by Milhaud and Menotti were despatched with increasing bravura, and following a quieter largo, the Khachaturian formed the climax. The piece encapsulated the Trio. Konstantin Lapshin’s steady piano, anchoring motifs with classic Russian pillars of sound, intertwined with Ilya Movchan’s flamboyant violin passages and William Stafford’s dancing clarinet glissandos.
