Isy Suttie: Pearl and Dave

This was an absolute treat. Supported by Chris Neil (whose conversational style hid some gems), Isy Suttie gave a performance that was as sweet and funny as you could ever hope for. This was the story of the titular Dave, Isy’s neighbour and penpal, and his unconventional romance with his ‘one that got away’ Pearl. Suttie brilliantly transforms herself into the different characters, breaking into song when needs be and backing it up with her own tales of heartbreak. Perhaps it lacked conflict but this was a show that found beauty in letters, facebook messages and unusual uses for M&Ms.
