Mr Pineapplehead

I love Mr Pineapplehead. He had the kids laughing from the very beginning with a magical mixture of mime and trickery. He made great big bubbles out of bogie juice and he’s really good at juggling. He combines a charming clownish muddle of idiotic incompetence, resilient vulnerability and innocence; but the thing I liked most about him was his warmth and kindness to the many children who helped him on stage. Some clowns seem to hate kids, or want to eat them; Mr Pineapplehead just took the gentle micky out of them and got the best out of them: The three-year-old boy who kept on picking up his deliberately dropped oranges; and the adorable girl who washed up his spinning plates. Mr P has lovely sympathetic eyebrows and he dealt with it really well when he got eaten by his wand. The Brunswick is a great kid-friendly pub; lunch was delicious after the show and 25 per cent off with tickets. Bonus!
