Helen Keen: Woman of the Future!

Her latest Radio 4 series ‘It Is Rocket Science’ began broadcasting only last week, but feminist space geek Helen Keen was far too modest to think of mentioning this in tonight’s show. Never mind rocket science, it was domestic science that greeted the audience, as she handed out gingerbread robots to every arrival. This was a work in progress performance, Keen’s comedy skills stringing together a handful of simple quizzes, personal and historical tales and Miriam Underhill’s sharp shadow puppetry into a loose technological theme. However haphazard, Keen’s delight in sharing her interests made being in her company a joy.
