Woman seriously injured in 55ft fall from Brighton flat
A woman suffered serious injuries when she fell 55ft from the window of a flat close to Brighton seafront.
Medics and a crew from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spent two hours trying to rescue the her.
She fell from a window in Madeira Mansions in Madeira Place, Brighton, late last night (Thursday 24 May).
Sussex Police said that it was investigating the cause of the fall which happened at about 11.40pm.
The woman landed in a basement after hitting a sloping roof on her way down.
She was the second person to fall from a building in the area in a fortnight.
On Sunday 13 May Matt Anderson, a 19-year-old chef at Moshi Moshi, in Brighton, fell from the top of Marine House in Broad Street, less than 200 yards from the latest incident.
The young New Zealander was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where he died on Tuesday 15 May.
Sussex Police said that his death was not being treated as suspicious.
