How does MC, Stephen Grant do it? This ineffable host of one of Brighton’s longest running comedy nights, has to put up with on the one hand, lairy stag-dos and on the other, monosyllabic punters who’ll just about manage to mutter a job title. Hats off, as his quick-wittedness is lol-undimmed. Tonight’s second star is undoubtedly, Paul McCaffrey, who was recently gobsmacked at spotting a half price offer for Mother’s Day in the window of… Ann Summers: “We’re not in Sweden.” Mark Olver went for easier ‘bloke humour’, while headliner, Keith Farnan, let rip with a hefty dose of Irish-based gags which certainly did it for the hen party in the middle of the room whose squeals of delight could well spell disaster for the later day groom.
