Celebcity with Jo Brooks: Alan Partridge returns

Alan Partridge returns, Brighton student blogger causes a stir & Fatboy Slim line-up announced

Back of the net! Alan Partridge is set to return to our TV screens, and we are so excited – regardless of the fact that Ovingdean based Steve Coogan has gone and signed a deal with Sky Atlantic (yes the channel also owned by Coogan’s biggest media nemesis: Rupert Murdoch). The two hour-long Alan Partridge specials will see comedy’s favourite Norwich based radio DJ put his mercurial self back in front of the cameras following the success of his self-penned autobiography, We Need To Talk About Alan, last year. Also set to play on Sky Atlantic is a special ‘behind the scenes’ programme following Coogan’s recent Australian tour. Keep an eye out for both.

vlogging sensation
YouTube sensation Alfie, also known as his online alias ‘PointlessBlog’ has been busy vlogging on the online site about his current passions and hatreds that he has, for example ‘Things I don’t like’ about hipsters, relationships and people in general. The teenager, currently studying at college in Brighton, is about to exceed 40,000 subscribers on the video sharing site, which is a fantastic achievement for Alfie. Chestnut Tree House kids have got talent
Four lucky youngsters from Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice enjoyed a VIP trip to the rehearsals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent show on May Bank Holiday Monday. Luke Dixon (19), Adam Beckett (13), Sophie Beeden (10) and her sister, Shelby (14) and Mum, Christine went to the BGT studio to watch the rehearsals for that evening’s live show and met the judges, Simon Cowell and David Walliams as well as presenters Ant and Dec. The foursome also got to sit in the judges’ chairs to chat to Simon whilst they were being filmed by ITV Daybreak. To top it all off, the boyband of the moment (well one of them anyway)The Wanted let them watch their rehearsal before meeting them and signing autographs. Mum Christine said; “The children had a fantastic time and it was so amazing seeing their faces.  Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a special day.” ITV Daybreak filmed the children’s visit in preparation for a live broadcast on Monday 21 May as part of a week-long feature on Children’s Hospice Week 2012, the national awareness and fundraising week for children’s hospices across the UK. It’s great to see Chestnut Tree house, a place we are proud to work with over the years here at JBPR, being recognised nationally. To find out more, visit www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk
