Light Bites: Glynde Food & English Wine Festival

Glynde Food & English Wine Festival
Now in its sixth year, The Glynde Food & English Wine Festival is set in the stunning grounds of Glynde Place. Viscount Hampden, festival founder says: “I’m delighted that our event attracts some of the finest English winemakers and that we are able to champion these very successful vineyards. We’re also hosting a selection of wonderful artisan food producers, exciting chefs and some really hands on experiences at the festival.”

Visitors can explore English wine through tastings and tutored sessions in the beautiful Marble Hall, go foraging with local expert Joe Nixon, learn about food and beer matching with Tim Anderson (MasterChef winner 2011), pick up tips from producers in the How To Tent and join cooking masterclasses with expert tuition from John Torode or Peter Bayless.
For budding young cooks, children can join the Kitchen Academy encouraging the next generation of chefs to cook dishes from Vegi Sushi to Mexican Quesadillas.

This year the Chef Demo Stage, free to all visitors, has John Torode, Dhruv Baker, Peter Bayless, Lisa Faulkner and local chef, Matt Gillan (South Lodge Hotel).

New for 2012 is the Summer Feast, an exclusive party hosted by John Torode and Dhruv Baker. Held in the main marquee on the Saturday night of the festival, it will be a chance to try some stunning food and enjoy the striking surroundings of Glynde Place into the evening. Tickets are £50 per person (strictly limited availability) to include a glass of English fizz and canapés on arrival followed by a three course sharing feast.
