Pensioner robbed in Brighton

Two men robbed an 84-year-old pensioner in Brighton on Sunday lunchtime (24 June).

They demanded money from the man just after he got off a bus in Eastern Road, near the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

One of the men snatched £50 from the pensioner, who comes from east London, and stole his bus pass.

He was heading for a nearby block of flats between noon and 1pm.

The man who snatched the money was described as white, aged 20 to 25 years old, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall, of thin build and with dark wavy hair. He was wearing a dark jacket which came down to his thighs. He spoke with a local accent.

The second suspect was also described as white, aged 17 to 20 years old, 5ft 6in tall and also of thin build. He was wearing a khaki military style jacket.

Sussex Police asked that anyone who saw the robbery to call 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
