Dandy Dick
A compromised vicar, a doped horse, deceitful daughters, police brutality, an ever-descending spiral of iniquity, ‘Dandy Dick’ has the lot in this welcome outing of a neglected classic of Victorian farce. The audience is in safe hands with an ensemble led by the indomitable Patricia Hodge and Nicolas Le Provost as the chalk and cheese siblings with a wonderful and multi-talented supporting cast. Pinero’s play is not clever-clever like Wilde, nor preachy-preachy like Shaw, (both his contemporaries) but it is fun and funny, so take my tip and put your shirt on Dandy Dick, it’s a sure thing!
