The Daily Telegraph can be expected to check whether Caroline Lucas, the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, will make her third appearance on the programme this year.

Earlier this year the Telegraph criticised Question Time for featuring her so often. She has been on the panel eight times in just over three years.

The show was last broadcast from Brighton in October 2009 to coincide with the Labour Party conference. David Dimbleby chaired proceedings at St Bartholomew’s Church.

His guests were Ben Bradshaw, who was then the Labour Culture Secretary, Theresa May for the Conservatives and the former Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy.

Also on the panel were the historian David Starkey and the economist Dambisa Moyo, who Time magazine described as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Dr Starkey clashed last month with blogger and columnist Laurie Penney, a former Brighton College pupil, at the Sunday Times Festival of Education.

She accused him of being a racist, “playing xenophobia for laughs” with comments that he made about the Rochdale “grooming” case – an accusation that he denied.

The festival took place at Wellington College, which is run by former Brighton College head Anthony Seldon.
