Brighton Lights, camera, action!

Over 100 Sussex business leaders lent their support to Latest TV, Brighton’s proposed new terrestrial TV station, at an event held at Latest MusicBar in Kemp Town on Tuesday 3 July. “The good news is that it’s not a dream – Brighton will have its own TV channel! Look out Channel 4, we’re coming!” said Bill Smith, managing director of the Latest group.

The TV station, which hopes to go live next year, is offering just 200 businesses the opportunity to partner the channel during its first year. Those wishing to support the channel are encouraged to contact Angi Mariani at angi@thelatest.co.uk

The free launch day saw Preston Park transformed into a giant sporting arena with 18 TAKEPART zones to experience. The zones included the Adventure Zone (for activities including mountain boarding, climbing and orienteering), Football Zone, Play Zone (fun things to do for young children) and Skatepark Zone.

Race For Life 2012

Race for Life is the UK’s biggest fight against cancer and the largest women-only fundraising event in
the UK. Since Race for Life started in 1994, an incredible six million participants have raised over £457million, more than any other UK event series raising money to fund cancer research.
On Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July Race for Life came to Stanmer Park in Brighton and hundreds of women took part in celebration of surviving a cancer experience. Others took part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future.
