Crash shuts Brighton seafront

Brighton seafront has been closed in both directions after a serious crash in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 15 July).

A 29-year-old woman has been taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious injuries after the accident on the A259 King’s Road at the junction with West Street.

The accident happened at about 4.45am and accident investigators were still at the scene with the road closed both ways at 8am.

Sussex Police said that officers were looking for a dark coloured vehicle and issued an appeal for witnesses.
