Nite Jewel
With the 80s renaissance still in full swing you’d have expected more than 30 people to turn up to Nite Jewel’s headlining show. The lack of numbers led to an empty atmosphere which was a shame considering the music on offer. Nicholas Krgovich, the main support, played an 80s soul-ballad drenched set. Accompanied only by his keyboard, a full backing band and a few changes in the tone seeping from his keyboard wouldn’t have gone amiss but his impressive vocals saved the day. Nite Jewel proved their hipster credentials with a rousing Frank Ocean cover and their amalgamation of funky-Joy Division/Blondie/Talk Talk inspired tracks made for a danceable if slightly underwhelming finale.
