Man charged with mugging in Portslade

A 38-year-old man has been charged with mugging a teenage boy in Portslade earlier this week.

Mark Cawfield, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday 27 July) where he will be charged with the robbery.

The robbery is alleged to have taken place in Locks Hill, Portslade, at about 10.20pm on Tuesday (24 July).

A 35-year-old woman from Portslade was also arrested after the street robbery. She was held on suspicion of being concerned in the incident although Sussex Police said today: “No further action will be taken against her at this time.”
