This week: Carla Ballantine, of local fashion label Sugar Jones

Carla Ballantine is the driving force behind the Sugar Jones fashion label, which is the latest in a long line of talented Brighton based designers. Carla started her label in Cornwall, but moved to Brighton after customers insisted her work was too cutting edge to hide away in the sleepy south west. Sugar Jones’ handmade bespoke pieces range from vintage inspired recycled jewellery to genuine Cuban cigar box handbags. She also has a commercial line inspired by a background of graphic design. This winning combination has seen Sugar Jones nominated in the Great Exhibition 2012 as a Best in Britain Start Up.
