Pride Brighton & Hove: Preston Park line-up


As the countdown to the 20th anniversary Pride Brighton and Hove gathers pace, the team behind this year’s celebrations are delighted to unveil the line-up for a day of unforgettable celebrations as Preston Park is transformed into one of the largest LGBT park events in Europe.

With hot international artists including Fatboy Slim, the Freemasons and Alexandra Burke, September 1 is going to be the hottest date this summer, whatever the weather. With eleven entertainment areas including the Pride funfair, market stalls and community village there is guaranteed entertainment for everyone. Confirmed line-up to date includes:

• Calabash Tent – Raising the profile of the Black and Minority Ethnic community in Brighton & Hove as well as showcasing the diversity of music. Calabash returns to Pride with a stellar line up, bringing together a range of local artists that reflect the diversity that exists within our LGBT community. The focus is on urban dance music; so expect funky sounds from bhangra to grime and dub step, RnB to soul and disco.

• Legends Cabaret Tent – A firm favourite; the cabaret tent features the crème de la crème of the cabaret world including national and regional artists.

• Club & Bar Revenge VIP Lounge – Extremely limited in availability, our VIP tickets give swift entry to Preston Park via your own VIP entrance, exclusive access to Moroccan themed Revenge VIP Lounge and dedicated bar, luxury VIP toilets, a glass of champagne on arrival, a themed lunch served from 1pm to 4pm, and VIP access to the dance, cabaret and pop tents. As a finishing touch you will also have your own dedicated hostess for the day.

• Girls on Top Pop Tent – For the very first time the Pride event on Preston Park will feature a 3000 capacity high thrills pop big top tent. The tent will feature an amazing sound system, fantastic lighting, dancers and out of this world special effects. The big top will be hosted by Revenge’s multi award winning club night Girls on Top with a plethora of the UKs finest female DJ talent.

• Wild Fruit Dance Big Top- This massive 5,000 capacity dance tent will feature local, national and internationally renowned DJs all day.

• Bears Tent – An extremely popular tent known for its exceptional house music policy featuring eight of the best male DJs that Brightons diverse club scene has to offer, the bears tent will feature on Preston Park especially for the guys.

• Paul Wilde Line Dancing Tent – The Cactus Club, now incorporating Lines and Bears make a return to Pride to provide an alternative dance tent. They will be teaching throughout the day so feel free join in the fun or watch from the side lines.

• Women’s Performance Tent – A vibrant line-up of local and nationally-known women artists, including bands, singer/songwriters and comedians.

• Fed Centre for Independent Living Access Tent – A safe base and chill out for people with disabilities or access needs.

• Lunch Positive Community Café – Brighton based HIV support group providing a relaxed café for all attendees

All of this complemented by other attractions, community and market stalls and a complement of 7 bars with your favourite brands, from Heineken UK and Barcadi Brown–Foreman.

The park is open from 12 noon through to 8pm and tickets are available from www.pridebrighton.org and venues across the South East.
