Man treated in hospital after attack in Brighton street

Yobs put a man in hospital after injuring his head by throwing a road sign at him in a busy Brighton street.

The gang attacked two men in York Place, near St Peter’s Church, at about 11.15pm on Saturday (4 August).

The victims, two Sussex men in their forties, were heading towards the seafront from Circus Circus pub in Preston Road at Preston Circus.

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service treated one of the men for cuts and bruises.

They took the other man to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with a gash on the back of his head.

Anyone who saw the incident is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
